Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and fifty of that project.

This quilt block shows a building that's made in the shape of an acorn, with a little wide stem coming out from the roof slightly on the left. The roof is a dark orange color with a tan sign on the front with the words,

I think Little Sprouts is a fun name for a children’s center. We have a local center named Little Sprouts, and I thought this building looked like it might be called that.

When my children were little, they all went to a preschool a couple of days a week to play with other littles. Because they were there, I volunteered, and it was fun and exciting to see how different all the little people were.

My oldest son met a lifelong friend when he went. My middle son kept running away when I took him to the same preschool four years later. It wasn’t the school’s fault.

He would sometimes beat me home on the first day. We finally found one where he stayed the whole day and discovered he liked it.

By the time the youngest came along, I was doing some home daycare, so he got some playtime then. He later went to a preschool next door to where we were living.

In the upper left of the building is the word in blue pen, "Polly's" in cursive. On the left is an orange door with a rounded top. To the right is a large light yellow window with an orange trim on the bottom. In the window is a fairly detailed parrot sitting on a perch. The parrot is a deep blue with a yellow beak and light brown wings.Block-A-Day 264 – Polly’s Pet Store This quilt block shows a tall green grain silo next to a round barn like building that's orange. The entrance to the orange building is a large black archway, and there's a black window above it.
