Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day fifty-five of that project.

I’m thinking of this building as an old-fashioned newspaper office. You know, the ones you see in the old black-and-white movies where there are typewriters, copyboys, reporters, writers, secretaries, and deadlines. Lots of activity and noise.

I know that’s not how newsrooms run now that everyone is on a computer and everything is sent electronically. News, however, still happens the same way. Somebody screws up, or there is a natural disaster, and it’s news.

The Sky-Hi News has been my hometown newspaper my whole life. It announced the birth of my children and the death of my grandparents, parents, sister, and husband.

It has given us perspective on community issues and informed us of what’s happening in our area. The want ads have helped me find jobs and sell things.

Now when I want to know something, I pull up their web page and look for what I need to know.

We still depend on our small-town newspaper.
