This quilt block shows a deep dark blue SUV against a light blue background (it's now day time in That Town). This vehicle is sturdy and has a tow hook on the rear of it (we are seeing it from the side.) The windshield and window are a light yellow and the headlight is a bright yellow. There are two dark wheels at the bottom with a small two-holed off-white in the center of each indicating the axle.

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and thirty-one of that project.

Here is a big, nice, and new SUV.

I think the color is beautiful. It has a tow package on it. I wonder what it’s towing.

We see many of these vehicles where I live for a couple of reasons. First, it’s because we have snow, ice, and mountains. Four-wheel drive is definitely an asset.

The other reason is that we have a lot of tourist traffic here.

This particular SUV belongs to Jenny. Jenny is recently retired and on her bucket list is to see all the National Parks and Monuments, even little ones like Tuzigoot.

So she bought this lovely rig and is taking her time zig-zagging her way across the United States. She’s by herself most of the time but is visiting a lot of friends and relations on her trek, so sometimes someone will join her for a bit of travel.

Tuzigoot is near Cottonwood, Arizona. It is the largest and best-preserved Sinagua pueblos in the Verde Valley. Built by the Sinagua people between 1125 and 1400, it was designated a National Monument on July 25, 1939.
