Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and twenty-seven of that project.

This little blue car looks a lot like the electric car my son’s mother-in-law drives. It’s an electric car, and it’s cute.

The first electric was a crude model made by an English inventor, Robert Anderson, in 1832.

Yep, you read that right, 1832! Then in 1870, a more practical model was developed for a broader market.

In 1996 EV1 was designed for the mass market. A cult following for the EV1 developed. There were still challenges to electric car batteries and distance on a charge.

Charging stations were also an issue. In 1997 Toyota produced a hybrid: the Prius. Many automakers followed suit in creating hybrids.

Then in 2008, Tesla Motors built an electric car that got 245 miles on a single charge. G.M. has promised 20 new electric models by 2023.

Electric cars and hybrids are coming from Buick, Chevy, Cadillac, and Ford. All of them are working on a sound for their vehicles.

I think I would want mine to play music and maybe blow bubbles.
