This quilt block shows a side view of a very nice car. The very nice car is a deep blue and has three windows: a windshield, a door window, and a rear window. There are two small gray bumpers on the front and back. It has two basic black circle wheels with two two-holed white small buttons in the center to indicate the axles. This is all against a light blue salmon-patterned background.

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and thirty-four of that project.

This quilt block shows a side view of a very nice car. The very nice car is a deep blue and has three windows: a windshield, a door window, and a rear window. There are two small gray bumpers on the front and back. It has two basic black circle wheels with two two-holed white small buttons in the center to indicate the axles. This is a Very Nice Car.

It has a leather interior, a new car smell, and state of the art sound system. It belongs to Christian, and he is very proud of it.

Today this Very Nice Car is taking a little road trip. Christian lives in a nearby city and is driving into That Town to pick up a woman named Robyn.

They plan to drive through the countryside and into a neighboring town for an early supper. Christian carefully checked their route to make sure they could do it all on paved roads.

When Robyn first suggested this plan, he was very apprehensive, concerned the Very Nice Car might have to ride on gravel roads. What a relief.

Robyn and Christian met through an online dating service. They have had an “in-person” date only once. They talk on the phone a lot, and it seems to be a good fit.

Robyn is a widow and hasn’t dated in 30 years, really. This is the first person Christian has dated since he got the Very Nice Car. He hopes it impresses her a lot.

I hope she notices that he worries more about the Very Nice Car than he does her.
