Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day nineteen of that project.

Oh, I love this block; this funny little building is clever. The spigot out the side is hysterical.

It’s called WOOD’S PLUMBING because a plumber lived right down the street from us until just a few years ago whose name was Woods. He was a very good plumber and a really nice guy. He always had a smile and laughed easily.

My late husband thought a lot of him, and when we built our home, he and Scott (my husband) did the plumbing. His wife wore stylish hats, and he always had a poodle.

This block made me think of my husband as well because he treated our town’s water for 32 years. I think this would make a perfect water treatment building.

Think how this building would fit into a Dr. Suess story. A hose could attach to the spigot, and water could come out and put out fires.

Can you tell that four of my young grandchildren live with me?
