Block-A-Day 18 – Custom Tables By Jon
Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day eighteen of that project.

Custom tables by Jon. I don’t know a “Jon,” I just thought it would make a good name on the sign.
Again, I’m using Pigma Micron pens by Sakura, Size 01.
This is a fanciful little shop, and I can imagine all kinds of tables being made here. My Grandmother had some lovely things, among them several little tables.
There is one in my shop now called a Butler’s table or tea table. Unlike a tea cart, it is round with carved pedestal legs. What makes it different is that a glass tray with wood handles/trim sits on top of the round wooden top. It is helpful for serving guests.
I thought it was the coolest table growing up. Grandma also had a candlestick table, a music box table that was part of a nesting set, and a dining room table that was inlaid to look like a spiderweb.
There was a table from the Isle of Capri that was inlaid with flowers on a removable top that, when removed, revealed an unusual game table that contained a chessboard, a backgammon board, and a roulette wheel!
What other ideas would Jon have in his workshop?
