This quilt block shows a bunch of flowers. Five tulip looking flowers extend upwards from a jagged piece of green fabric made to look like grass. The stalks of the flowers are pen and stitching. The leaves that point upwards, two for each flower on each side are a darker green with a light green stitching outline. The tops of the flowers, the bulbs, are a bright orange at the base, with a yellow part sticking out the top, much like a tulip.

I have a little story about tulips this year at our house. Farmhand 1 planted and grew some very beautiful red and yellow tulips. While they were in full bloom Farmhand 4 picked them. Without permission.

This quilt block shows a gray fountain against a blue salmon-patterned background. The fountain is in three levels, each level having a smaller gray bowl to collect the water. At the top of the central rod the water is shooting out and cascading down, all indicated by white and gray stitching lines. The gray bowls are lined at the top with a black fabric with additional stitching.

Baby was still nursing so between feedings I would put him in the stroller and we would walk around the Las Vegas strip. I really enjoyed the fountain at the Bellagio. I thought you might like to read some facts about the amazing fountains there.

This quilt block shows a very orange van against a light blue background. The van has light yellow glass including windshield and windows. There are three windows on the side, one on a door and two as the carriage extends further back. There are two wheels below each with the obligatory small light two-holed buttons indicating the axles.

Farmhand #2 decided he was done with diapers at age two just before they left for Colorado on one trip. Farmhand #1 figured out real quick that if #2 needed to go potty Mom and Dad would pull over and everyone could get out.

This quilt block shows a patch of smooth grass along the bottom with a deep green fabric, and then trees that look like light green blocks coming up from it. There are three trees with very short orange-brown trunks ranging from short to pretty tall. This is all against a gray salmon or fish like background fabric. There is vertical white stitching in the trees.

This quilt block is another in the park series, with a green jagged piece of cloth at the bottom to indicate grass. On top of the grass is a giant arch, presumably made out of painted metal/plastic. There are two bars in an arch with bars going between the two that you can climb on. The whole thing is yellow and a splotchy almost rust orange.

About first or second grade a boy in my class, Petey, fell and broke his arm and knocked a front tooth out. I thought he was so cute and sweet.

This quilt block shows another patch of grass at the bottom using a jagge piece of fabric with different shades of green on it. Against the gray background is a swingset with a singular swing hanging from it. The swingset itself is a striking red against the gray, while the chains are an interesting speckled thread. The set is speckled too. The seat itself is a light blue.

When I saw this block my first thought was back to a book I read my children and still read my grandchildren called, Are You My Mother? It’s about a baby bird that hatches in his nest while his mother is away and he sets out to find her.
