This quilt block shows a square building against a light blue salmon-patterned background. The building has a square flat roof that is a deep red. The door is also a deep red and pretty tall. On the red roof is a black sign with a lot of pen drawing on it. There is a sun with a spiral in the center, and a coffee cup with steam coming out o the top. The words, "Java Lava Cafe & Coffee Lounge" are on the sign in white, except for the word Cafe which is very large, center stage, and has a yellow-brown gradient. On either side the tall red door are tall yellow windows. In the left one there is the word "Open" in red letters.

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and fifty-three of that project.

This is my favorite place to eat breakfast.

I try to eat there once a week. I know everybody there, and it’s such a cute and fun place.

The coffee is great, and the food is delicious.

It has a very eclectic decor and a sundrenched room in the back with tables and chairs for meetings, gatherings, or large party breakfasts. There is a shark mounted on the wall! And license plates from far away places that the owner has visited.

There is a “local table” where local gentlemen meet every morning for coffee and solve the world’s problems.

Of course, anyone is welcome to sit with them too. I thought their sign was so cool it had to be included in my quilt.
