This quilt block shows a fancy dark green tractor. It has a large back wheel and a smaller front wheel. There's a black smoke stack the same color as the wheels on the side and extending above the cab. There is a large white headlight on the front of the tractor (we're viewing it from the side) and a large cab with a light yellow tinted window. The smoke stack has white pen on it to show it's sheen. There are two white buttons in the axles of the wheels, one larger than the other. To finish it off in pen there's a small step below the chassis to help you into the tractor's cabin.

Ollie is trying to figure out how he can never have to leave his tractor. His wife of 40 years is jealous and suspects he’s murmuring the tractor’s name in his sleep.

This quilt block shows a big gray barrel with water inside it. The gray fabric is decorated with a thin black stitching and white pen to show the structure of the indentations of the metal barrel. Inside the barrel, at the top is blue fabric with pen on it to show the water moving. On the side of the barrel is a black bird with an orange beak and yellow feet. There is white pen to show the bird's features.

When you have a pig roast at your house you can ice the pig in it before you roast it and then wash it out well and fill it with ice, soda, water, and beer. A smaller tank will hold ice and a keg.

This quilt block shows a set of sacks of fertilizer with a sign against a light blue background. The sign has a black fabric post and a tan fabric signage that reads, "Pony Poo $5.00". On each brown sack there is a label that reads, "Pony Poo" in black pen. Each sack, and the sign and post are outlined by a bright yellow stitching.

On the farm, we compost all our animal waste. We use deep wood chip bedding and with the animals turning it all the time it composts right under their feet and wonderful compost is made.

This quilt block is a corner block. it has a dark green patch of grass in the bottom left corner. On that patch of grass is a basket. The basket is a brown fabric with a lot of pen marks on it in a hatched design to make it look like a weaved basket. Inside the basket are several vegetables. There are carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, and a red pepper each with corresponding colored fabric. Coming out from the center of the basket is a stick that's holding up a detailed sign that has written in black, "Harvest Sale."

I thought what could be more appropriate than a big harvest basket. So Imagine this basket full of all your favorite fresh veggies.

This quilt block shows two chickens facing each other. One chicken is pecking on the ground where there are some yellow dots and brown dots indicating scratch. The other chicken is upright looking onwards. Each chicken is a brown piece of fabric with a light orange and black stitched outline. The chicken's crests are small rec pieces of fabric with similar stitching. The feet and beak are drawn in with pen. This is all against a light blue salmon-patterned background.

Perhaps they are discussing all the people they know. I have just read that chickens have amazing memories and can remember 100 faces!

This quilt block shows two cows standing in the grass. The bottom of the block has a jagged cut piece of green fabric indicating the grass. On the right is a large Highlander cow with fur covering the front of her brown face. Next to her and a bit behind her is a much lighter orange-yellow calf that is half her height. It looks a bit like a teddy bear. The cow and calf are detailed with appropriately colored pen markings.

It is so much fun to see the baby calves in the spring because they’re so cute. They look like little teddy bears bouncing around the field.

This quilt block shows a tall building with a large skylight. The roof is a large orange trapezoid. On the center of the roof is a yellow piece of fabric that is also in the same shape as the roof. There are threads that separate the panes of glass in the skylight. Below the large roof Is a dark yellow/gold main body. On that main body is large writing with a white outline that reads,

Insurance is a very contentious subject locally in my town. With the fire last year our county has had so much loss of home and property that you can imagine we have had so many claims.

This quilt block shows a large just about square building. The main building material is a single large duotone polka dotted fabric (the dots being scattered and random). There are many smaller square windows outlined with an orange fabric, while inside they are a solid brown. They're each outlined by stitching. There is a light fixture above the middle door drawn in pen. The door is in the middle and is also outlined in an orange fabric. There are two signs, each detailed and colorful. Upstairs was a 3.2 beer joint called The Upstairs. The bowling alley closed in the late seventies. Sonny and Ruthie Samuelson were the owners. After that Cindy Samuelson opened a feed store there and I bought feed for many years from her.

This quilt block shows a square building with a sign on it and a wooden stairway up to a door. The building is white with black outlines showing the door and the windows. They can print some really big stuff down there, like blueprints and banners. The same with shipping. They are our go-to for UPS and FedEx. I always smile when I go in there because Joseph, the owner, has humorous signs posted behind the checkout counter.
