Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and fifty-two of that project.

This quilt block look like a giant gift box, complete with a big bow on top. The "lid" of the box is the roof, and it is a very dark blue color. The bow is a rust orange color and has pen markings on it showing little pin stripes of white. It comes up the roof in a band in the center, and then has two big loops and a knot on top. Below the roof is a square building that is also rust colored. In big black scriptive letters are the words, "Coulter House Gifts." Below the writing on the left is a rounded dark brown door with a little gold window inset into it. Next to the door is a rectangular window that's a light yellow. Inside the window is a little blue gnome with a white beard looking out. The building, door, and roof are all outlined with a light colored stitching.

My lifelong friend, Nona, had the cutest little gift shop a few years ago.

She found such unique things that were simply irresistible to me. She and her daughter made beautiful jewelry (some of my favorite pieces) and she found little (I mean really little) cute little figures and characters.

I have one looking at me in my shop right now.

Now Nona makes felt and wooden gnomes for her friends and I sell them in my shop. Everybody who sees them loves them.

I’m lucky to know her.
