Block-A-Day 49 – The Flirting Swing

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day forty-nine of that project.

This block shows a patch of grass in the bottom right corner. On the patch of grass is a big wooden swingset with a solitary swing.

This is the corner lot owned by the Grange next door.

Many “big kids” have swung on this swing over the years. Everyone is careful to keep it in good repair; we don’t want any accidents.

The swing is a favorite spot for young teenage farm girls to hang out flirting with boys during family picnics or agricultural meetings.

This shows a quilt with three outer rings full of buildings and a star in the center.

Also, here is a picture of another round added to the quilt! I have to tell you of a mistake I made and had to correct today.

I started laying out the blocks to add this round, and nothing made sense.

I finally figured out that the last time I added a round, I had swapped two sides which threw everything off. So I took two sides off and reversed them, and then all the new blocks fit happily. I was happy too.

I realize I’m becoming attached to my little town. Wait til you see what’s coming up!
