Block-A-Day 48 – The Grange Building
Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day forty-eight of that project.

The Grange building has been there for a very long time. Before this part of town was developed and there were just a few houses spaced far apart, the majority of this area was farmland. This building housed the farm bureau and extension then.
Today, this space is still used as a meeting place for stock growers, land management, and 4-H meetings. All kinds of meetings, gatherings, and classes are held here. It’s also where chili cook-offs happen, and the local sewing guild meets.
Last summer, there was a casual wedding reception with a huge picnic buffet. Because the Grange owns the lot next door, there is room for games of horseshoes and space for the kids to play.
Next summer, a series of fundraisers are planned because they have decided the old building needs a little updating.
I’d love to see the inside.
