Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day fifty of that project.

This is the official post office for my little town. It looks like a very serious building. I’m sure it is.
The post office is still a lifeline in small towns and rural communities. It’s how we get and send packages to loved ones. How some of our bills still come to us, and payments go out.
I think everyone loves to get mail. I know that it’s a huge treat for my grandchildren when their magazine subscriptions come every month and they have a sweet friend that sends cute cards she makes every month.
My mother-in-law is a wonderful person and if you are her friend or family she writes letters. Real letters, handwritten and newsy. I am continually impressed by her commitment to the written word. I know having been on the receiving end it’s a thrill to get one of her letters.
I think I’ll send a card to my out-of-town grandchildren as soon as I can. Maybe you could send a note to someone who is away. I know email and texting are easier.
