Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and twenty-nine of that project.

This quilt block shows a dark reddish-brown fence in the middle with two cone like dark green trees on either side. Above the red slats of the fence are six little dark bugs drawn in with a pen. These are presumably flies.

A golf course doesn’t want their refuse containers where anyone can see them, so this is an excellent camouflage for the ugly necessity.

It must be getting close to trash day because we can see flies buzzing above the area.

This is all against a blue salmon-patterned background.Block-A-Day 213 – Olive’s Trees This quilt block shows a weeping willow tree. The trunk of the tree rests in the center of the bottom of the block and grows upward, tapering to the end point at the top. Then yellow and green stitching comes out of the top like a fountain and "sprays" downward. With each stitching line there are green leaves outlined by stitching to indicate the leaves of the tree. On the left leave vine closest to the trunk there is drawn a dark green caterpillar with yellow spots.Block-A-Day 220 – The Weeping Willow This quilt block shows a putting green on a golf course. There are two trees to either side of the putting green with black trunks and dark green fabric foliage. The putting green itself is the same dark green fabric, but in the center of the oval shaped surface is a big black pole sticking into a hole. At the top of the pole is a little red flag with the number 1 penned in white. Near the hole in the green is a white dot, also penned in. That's a golf ball, Marc's golf ball.Block-A-Day 227 – Marc’s Hobby
