Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and twenty-eight of that project.

This quilt block shows a large square tan building against a blue salmon-patterned background. The building has a triangular sloped rooftop which is shown with a much darker brown fabric. Right at the apex of the roof is a logo of an elk. Underneath the elk logo is a sign that reads in black pen, "GRAND ELK Golf Club & Grille" The sign is in a gray or beige color. There is a window and inside the window is a menu pasted up, and in red pen, "Sale on Tees!" To the left of the window is a door the same color as the upper sign.

After Marc and Ray finished their game they went to the Clubhouse.

Marc wanted to talk about the game and Ray wanted to get something to eat and have a cold beer or two. Ray had been playing golf only a little longer than Marc Ray, however, had more of a natural gift for the game.

They had been friends for a long time and Marc’s naturally sunny disposition went a long way with Ray. He enjoyed Marc’s sense of humor and positive attitude.

This was fortunate for Marc because he was truly a really terrible golfer. It’s unlikely that anyone else would have the patience to play 18 holes with him.

But, they had a few laughs and a good burger and cold brews. Their wives had a few quiet hours to themselves.

I’d say a very successful day.
