When you have a pig roast at your house you can ice the pig in it before you roast it and then wash it out well and fill it with ice, soda, water, and beer. A smaller tank will hold ice and a keg.

This quilt block shows a door, or a panel of wall that would be next to a door, with some pegs for hanging things. The pegs can't be seen because a large brimmed hat made out of black fabric and a cloak made out of a dark green fabric are hanging from the wall. Next to the wall on the bottom right are two gray boots. Everything is outlined in a bright yellow stitching.

Here’s the rest of the gear the “barn-mucker” needs to muck out the barn. Rubber boots (some of them come insulated), a coat if it’s cold, and a hat to keep the sweat off your brow. It’s a dirty job but somebody’s gotta do it.

Looks like Sacks of grain to feed the stock. Probably oats or sweet mix for the horses, corn for the sheep and blends for the pigs. Our little friend here is the last thing anyone wants to see in their granary. Mice can eat a lot of grain.

This quilt block, much like the last one, shows a donkey or mule against a light blue background. The mule is made up of a polkadotted duotone gray-yellow fabric. It is outlined by a black tight stitching. You can see the mule's large ears and much broader and longer head. The mule also stands shorter than a regular horse with stocky back legs. It also has a long thing tail with a little bush at the end.

The mule generally has a more independent nature than other equines. However, they have superior stamina and strength. While many people enjoy riding their mules, they are thought most useful in the pack animal department.

This quilt block shows a very dark, practically black, pentagon shaped shed on the lower half. It has a lighter grey frame on the outside and around the door. It is against a salmon-patterned blue background.

I am thinking this would be a very useful shed for storing chicken feed, dog food, and small off season equipment like a snowblower or lawnmower.

This quilt block shows several large metallic cans against a light blue salmon-patterned background. The canisters themselves are gray fabric that looks metallic. The canisters have little handles near the top. The top is smaller than the bottom, forming a very wide flute, and have a cross handle on top. These details are made clear with light gray stitching lines. On the front two canisters are little yellow-orange signs with the words, "Milk" and "Cream" written in black pen.

On a family farm, some of the cream might be skimmed off and used for whipping, butter, or mixing with whole milk for coffee. Commercial dairy operations use a separator.

This quilt block shows a dark brown and maroon bench with a cat sitting on it. The cat is a light tan cream color with black splotches. The bench sits on two black v-shaped stands. The slats are horizontal and outlined with stitching. This is all against a blue background.

Here is Tuna. She likes to come out in the afternoons and sit on this bench. The sun shines on her pretty coat and she gives herself a little bath. Of course, this little bath takes an hour.

This quilt block shows a square building. The roof is gray and flat. Underneath that is a brown building with gray double doors. There is a very detailed picture of a long boat drawn in pen on a yellow piece of fabric above the door. Below that, still above the door, is a dark brown sign with white letters that reads,

When I was a girl it was the hardware store we went to for everything. Actually, it was under different ownership but it was the hardware store where we bought everything to build our house in the late ’80s.

This quilt block shows a large dark gray building that takes up most of the block. The roof is the darkest gray and is square and flat. Underneath that is a very big sign that's yellow. It reads,

There was an auto-dialer that would call our house if any sensor twitched when he wasn’t there. Then the phone would ring next to our bed and he would get up, get dressed and go to the plant to soothe whatever had ruffled its feathers.

This quilt block shows an austere building against a light blue salmon-patterned background. The building is white and tall with a very triangular black roof. There are two dark grey second story windows outlined with white stitching. The door is an even darker shade of gray. The building and roof itself are outlined in gray stitching. Above the two second-story windows is writing that says,

It’s a really nice complex with a new bagel shop. It replaces a very old brick building where I saw Dr. Warren to have my baby teeth pulled. For 65 years dentists have been taking care of teeth in that little brick building.
