They had been friends for a long time and Marc’s naturally sunny disposition went a long way with Ray. He enjoyed Marc’s sense of humor and positive attitude.

This quilt block shows a putting green on a golf course. There are two trees to either side of the putting green with black trunks and dark green fabric foliage. The putting green itself is the same dark green fabric, but in the center of the oval shaped surface is a big black pole sticking into a hole. At the top of the pole is a little red flag with the number 1 penned in white. Near the hole in the green is a white dot, also penned in. That's a golf ball, Marc's golf ball.

Competition has never been very important to him and he’s playing golf for fun and because his wife said he had to get a hobby. Since he retired he’s been wanting to “help” her a little too much with everything.

Last year, when our high school seniors had their graduation they all rode in a parade around town and down Main Street in golf carts provided by local golf courses.
