Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and eighty-seven of that project.

This quilt block shows a citrus tre. This is an orange tree with a tall brown trunk, and at the top many green leaves and five orange citrus fruits. The leaves and fruits are scattered around at the top of the tree.Each leaf has a light yellow stitching, and each orange has an offwhite stitching along with the trunk. This is all against a blue background.

Is it an orange tree or a tangerine? Maybe a California cutie.

Nothing is better to me than a sweet juicy “orange” citrus. Honestly, my mouth is watering writing this post!

My favorite orange is the Cara Cara orange. This year Asa brought home bags from Costco a few times, and I enjoyed them so much. Every night I would eat two when I went home.

When I was a little girl, my Grandmother would slice an orange into 1/4” slices and cut them in half.

She would arrange them on a plate and sprinkle a little powdered sugar over the top for my snack. It sure made me feel special.

Farmhand 4 really likes “cuties.” He’s just turning four and can now peel his own.

However, last winter, he would come into my room in the morning, and because I slept on my side, he was right at eye level. He’d tap my forehead with the cutie until I woke up so I could peel it for him.

I have been woken in much worse ways.

The leaves that point upwards, two for each flower on each side are a darker green with a light green stitching outline. The tops of the flowers, the bulbs, are a bright orange at the base, with a yellow part sticking out the top, much like a tulip.Block-A-Day 200 – The Tulips This quilt block is a corner block. This means that a piece of green fabric representing grass stretches from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. The grass is topped with a thick yellow stitching. On top of the grass is a tree with a cone shaped trunk made of dark brown fabric, and a large foliage on top made of a dark green fabric. These are outlined by a thinner yellow stitching. There is a rope and tire hanging from the tree drawn in with pen.Block-A-Day 364 – The Mighty Oak
