A pretty little corner flower plot and look! Yellow Shirley Hearts, aren’t they beautiful. Even the buds are heart shaped. What a fun flower. Thanks Marge Seedpod for bringing us Shirley hearts.

This block shows two green poplar trees, tall with narrow branches, rising up from the ground to the left. Their trunks are an orange rust brown, while the crown from bottom to top is a dark green. To the right is a two-slat bright orange fence with four fence posts standing up to start it. This is all set against a light-blue salmon-colored background.

I figure the lot owner got tired of people pulling up into the lot to park. Maybe even volunteer firefighters that drove in and parked fast responding to fire calls.

This quilt block shows a light green splotchy truck against a light blue salmon-patterned background. The truck has a single seated can in the front with light yellow patches of fabric indicating the windshield and window. The back part of the truck is flat like a pick-up truck and extends back pretty far. There are two dark circles indicating wheels with small off-white two-holed buttons in the center of them indicating the axle.

When my son, Asa, turned sixteen he bought a 1978 ford pickup from his grandfather. He learned to drive in it and so did his younger brother. It was light green and got terrible gas mileage. And they loved it.

This is another corner quilt block. Against a gray background is a patch of grass in the bottom right, lighter than some of the other blocks before. There are little green sprouts, and on the sprouts are red two-holed flower shaped buttons.

This corner block marks where the school zone starts. I lived on the corner right across from our high school. I can tell you in real life those corners do not have sweet little flower patches on them.

This quilt block shows a smooth patch of grass in a medium dark green fabric at the bottom, and a gray background. On the patch of grass are tall palm trees with brown-orange trunks and even darker green palm leaves splaying out from the tops. There are three trees in all.

A few years ago I took a girls trip to Jamaica. While I was there I went on a nature hike to learn about native plants. When we came to some coconut palms our guide climbed straight up the tree!

This quilt block shows three pointy green trees on a patch of grass against a gray background. The important part here though is that in the patch of grass is a blue pond area with three duck shaped (and colored) buttons with two holes each. They are so cute, and bright, with little red beaks all in a row.
