Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and forty-four of that project.

This block shows a corner block with a blue salmon-patterned background. There is a rich green grass patch with light yellow stitching in the bottom left corner. On the mount of grass fabric is a sign with an orange polka-dotted stick holding a light yellow sign with red lettering on it that reads, "No parking"

I am seeing an empty lot with grass that kids play ball on.

I figure the lot owner got tired of people pulling up into the lot to park. Maybe even volunteer firefighters that drove in and parked fast responding to fire calls.

Whoever it was, a handmade sign went up.

I wonder how effective that sign is? Maybe there is a sandlot where kids play baseball.

That reminds me of one of my favorite family movies, The Sandlot. I have watched it several times and it’s terrific.

So if you haven’t seen it check it out. I watched it with my kids and now with my grandkids.
