Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day eighty-six of that project.

Nick’s Dirt Works is the company in charge of this road work project.

The real-life Nick is Nick Waldow, my daughter-in-law’s brother. Nick has been running heavy equipment since he was in his mid-teens.

People have commented they like to watch him work because he’s such a part of the machine. He was barely out of his teens when he bought his first piece of equipment and was in business. He worked with another family business, Waldow And Daughter Trucking.

At that time, the daughter was my daughter-in-law. She did his trucking. Now he has lots of equipment and lots of guys working for him.

When he was young, he was a competitive biathlon participant and traveled domestically to compete. He’s a great guy, father, brother, and friend.

I’m so happy he’s part of my extended family.
