Block-A-Day 85 – Flat Stanley
Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day eighty-five of that project.

When I made this block, it made me think of the children’s book series, Flat Stanley.
I know Flat Stanley books have inspired school projects involving a flat cut-out of a child that gets mailed all over. For those who don’t know, Stanley was supposedly flattened by a bulletin board falling on him.
I always thought a roller would be a better flattener. A few facts about rollers: when a roller is filled with water, it weighs 15 tons – as much as 5000 watermelons.
A roller is over 6 ft wide and travels 6 miles an hour. There is a hole in the roller where the water goes in and comes out. Nick’s Dirt Works logo is on this piece of machinery.
Tomorrow I will talk more about Nick.
