Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day eighty of that project.

Tools can make the difference in the outcome of the job and how long it takes to do it. That goes for all kinds of tools, vacuum cleaners, carpentry, sewing machines, and rotary cutters.

Angelo Roberts is a fantastic carpenter. He worked in the trade for 25 years. Even after the accident, he continued to work incomparably.

Angelo had saved for a long time and had a very nice nest egg. So he decided to open his own tool store.

Sore Thumb Tools was highly anticipated and was met with open arms. Everyone goes in to check with Angelo before they start a project. He decided on Sore Thumb Tools because of an accident he had on the job.

You see, Angelo Roberts doesn’t have a left thumb. He was using a sledgehammer to drive spikes into a log wall. He looked up in mid-swing and saw his co-worker fall from the roof.

Well, it was too late to stop the powerful blow, and the slight shift in his position caused poor Angelo to hit his thumb.

Angelo is a very strong guy. He was used to driving those spikes in one blow. No way they could save his thumb.

So now he’s the proud proprietor of Sore Thumb Tools.

Angelo had a great sense of humor.
