Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day three hundred and twenty-six of that project.

This quilt block shows two pieces of jagged green fabric with a bright green stitching outlining them. The first piece is along the bottom of the square, and the other is around the central blue fabric piece. The blue fabric piece is a pond, with a spiral stitching of a darker blue thread. In the middle of the pond is a duck, which is a piece of brown fabric with some stitching to indicate the wings and outline.

Watching ducks on a pond is relaxing and very entertaining.

There is a reason many parks have duck ponds with benches around them. It’s fun to watch the ducks flip down with their tails and little webbed feet waving in the air.

I love to see a mama duck lead their little crew around the pond. When my children were small I had a few additional children that spent their days with me.

We had to go grocery shopping once a week. I would line everybody up and tell them they were baby ducks and I was a mama duck. It worked.

They softly quacked around the store and we weren’t a train wreck.

I’m hoping I didn’t waddle quite as much as the real mama duck!
