This quilt block shows two building side by side. They are really one building made up of two townhomes. Each townhome has a black triangular roof. Below that is a beige-teal square building. The fronts of the townhomes are mirror images of each other. Each one has two upper floor square yellow windows (bordered by brown thread, and one lower floor yellow square window. The lower windows have flowerbeds in front of them, with one having red flowers (tiny two-hole buttons), and the other having pink flowers. Next to each window is a black rounded door.

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and sixty-one of that project.

Here is a cute pair of townhouses at Sunny Vista.

Molly lives in one, and Michelle lives in the other.

They both moved into Sunny Vista at about the same time. Michelle is quiet, shy, and almost mouse-like, at least she was, until she met Molly.

Molly is full of life and fun. She’s up for anything and is usually the instigator. She has a loud and contagious laugh.

When M&M (They call themselves the M&Ms) first met, Michelle practically hid from Molly. Molly wears bright colors and flashy clothes. She’d never seen anything like Molly.

Michelle dressed tastefully in beige, grey, and black. A wild outfit for her was adding a pink scarf to her black pantsuit.

Molly, however, wouldn’t be deterred and kept being so nice. She insisted Michelle go to a play with her and then to lunch. She brought Margaritas to Michelle’s and created a Mexican meal. Of course, Molly was dressed for the occasion.

She brought clothes for Michelle, and after a Margarita or two, she put them on. And something happened. (I think it was having all that color looking back at her in the mirror.)

She realized she was smiling and laughing, and she’d been smiling and laughing more and more. Now the M&Ms are practically inseparable.

Michelle’s kids are horrified, and she’s delighted.
