This quilt block shows a green taxi cab with a yellow sign on top that says "TAXI" in black pen. There are two yellow dots next to each side of the word. The taxi itself is more like a little buggy or jeep, and is entirely a deep green. The headlight is a bright yellow. It looks a bit like an old car from history. The wheels are black and round with white stitching on the outer edge and in the middle two ivory colored two-holed buttons indicating the hubcaps.

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and sixty-six of that project.

This little airport taxi is such a cheerful color.

Most of its fares are people flying in to visit That Town. A few commuters fly out early on Monday to work in a distant city and back Thursday night to spend weekends with their families.

This little taxi only sits at the airport sometimes.

The driver is a student that does this to help with expenses. He hopes someday to become an airplane mechanic, so he spends downtime in the hangar talking to the mechanics and pilots.

His name is Charlie, and because everybody likes him, they are happy to share stories with him.
