Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and forty-six of that project.

This quilt block shows a private railroad car against a light blue salmon-patterned background. It's a pretty frilly car, with a pink rooftop that has "Private Car" written on it in cursive. Below that is a maroon car with four yellow windows, each with a pull down curtain. The left most window is on a pink door out of the car. Below are two dirt brown wheels with light stitching on them indicating spokes.

Our little train has a private car. The owner of the train lives in this car.

She has a really cute little apartment set up. She loves the little train more than anyone. Her father was a railroad man.

His wealth came from investments, but he was an engineer because he loved it. He manned an old steam engine.

Julie was an only child and the apple of her father’s eye.

He often took her in the engine with him. When they were at home they would spend many hours in the basement playing with the most elaborate train setup you can imagine.

Julie adored her father and she loved the trains. That was her world, the tiny trees, people and buildings.

And she was queen!

When her father passed away he left Julie a sizable fortune. It took her a hot second to decide what she wanted to do with it.

Fortunately she was a kind child and became a benevolent woman.

Now she rides on her very own train, happily serving everyone in her little corner of the world.
