When you go in the door there is a giant parrot on the right. Invariably, new customers will say, “Are you Polly?” The parrot who’s name is Fred has learned to answer, “No Dumbass, my name’s Fred”. At which point Polly will swing into view and scold Fred.
The person who lives here has been a mystery for decades. There is a legend that the person is a man that has been holed up in his big creaky house since he was a child. His parents were killed in an accident in the Bermuda triangle.
One day a lovely young woman walked into the “mat” and smiled and said hello. She walked over to a machine and stripped off every stitch she had on. She turned around and asked the other patrons if she could borrow a little detergent.
When my children were little they all went to a preschool a couple of days a week to play with other littles. Because they were there I volunteered and it was fun and interesting to see how different all the little people were.
Dr. Sue is the presiding vet now but for many years Dr. Larry Peterson was there to take care of whatever animal problem that I had. He did everything. He mercifully and sympathetically ended the lives of several beloved 4 legged friends. He also came to the farm to help with a variety of oddball things my livestock got into.
Our Chamber of Commerce / information center in our town has a cool logo and I wanted to capture that on my building. The Chamber works hard to bring people to Granby and helps business on main street.
There was no space in the garage, because his father made it very clear his own car was residing there. The boys couldn’t just throw a tarp over it there were rules that prohibited cars on blocks in his neighborhood. They were knocking around ideas when Aiden said, “Why don’t we put it in front right off the street?”
Remember poor Charlie Brown trying to fly a kite and every time he did a tree ate it? I think in one Peanuts strip he just took the kite out and fed it to the tree.
A golf course doesn’t want their refuse containers where anyone can see them so this is a nice camouflage for the ugly necessity. Must be getting close to trash day because we can see some flies buzzing around above the area.
Competition has never been very important to him and he’s playing golf for fun and because his wife said he had to get a hobby. Since he retired he’s been wanting to “help” her a little too much with everything.
