When they lived in Burbank, California three different trucks would pick up. One for trash, one for recycling and one for “green” trash for composting. One day a week Little Farmgirl could watch trucks all day.

I’ve gone to Denver a few times and used the bus system to get around downtown and it made me feel very independent. Also, I’ve taken the light rail system from the airport and like that too.

This quilt block shows a brown and orange cement truck against a light blue salmon-patterned background. The cab is brown with a light orange windshield. The fabrics are splotchy except for the mixer which is orange with brown speckled polka-dots. There is an orange band around the mixer with writing that says,

When we turned onto our County Road there was a cement truck coming and being his first left turn he turned a little too much. It looked like we were going to drive into the cement truck. He corrected and we missed but it sure made an impression on mom.

The boat hull has light thread lines stitched through it, and is made out of a dark maroon piece of fabric,. The top of the boat is dark blue with a windshield opening that is light blue. It's sitting on a dark brown trailer with a single wheel that is a dark circle with a small off-white two-holed button in the middle indicating the axle.

They are headed for Colorado. They have heard there is great trout in the mountain lakes. This is the furthest they have ever taken the boat but with three weeks stretching out in front of them they are READY.

This quilt block shows a dark brown and slightly reddish truck without a bed. The truck's can extends to the rear of the truck and it has two windows light orange windows besides the windshield. The headlight is also the same color. Behind the truck is a gray tow structure attached to something that's located off the quilt block to the right (the truck is facing left.) There are two dark circles indicating wheels underneath with small off-white two-holed buttons in the centers indicating the axle.

Andy is out in the driveway waxing his truck again, second time this week. He’s singing “On The Road Again” and his long suffering wife Deb is watching him from the kitchen window and rolling her eyes for the tenth time in as many minutes.

I’m sure many of you have given blood, I know I have. I have never had a transfusion myself but both of my parents used a lot of blood before they passed away. I kind of think of it as a debt.

This quilt block shows a light green splotchy truck against a light blue salmon-patterned background. The truck has a single seated can in the front with light yellow patches of fabric indicating the windshield and window. The back part of the truck is flat like a pick-up truck and extends back pretty far. There are two dark circles indicating wheels with small off-white two-holed buttons in the center of them indicating the axle.

When my son, Asa, turned sixteen he bought a 1978 ford pickup from his grandfather. He learned to drive in it and so did his younger brother. It was light green and got terrible gas mileage. And they loved it.

This quilt block shows a very orange van against a light blue background. The van has light yellow glass including windshield and windows. There are three windows on the side, one on a door and two as the carriage extends further back. There are two wheels below each with the obligatory small light two-holed buttons indicating the axles.

Farmhand #2 decided he was done with diapers at age two just before they left for Colorado on one trip. Farmhand #1 figured out real quick that if #2 needed to go potty Mom and Dad would pull over and everyone could get out.

This quilt block shows a deep dark blue SUV against a light blue background (it's now day time in That Town). This vehicle is sturdy and has a tow hook on the rear of it (we are seeing it from the side.) The windshield and window are a light yellow and the headlight is a bright yellow. There are two dark wheels at the bottom with a small two-holed off-white in the center of each indicating the axle.
