This quilt block shows a smooth patch of grass at the bottom denoted by a green cut of fabric. On the green fabric are threads shooting up with yellow buttons at their end indicating flowers. The buttons are round and two-holed. In the middle of it all is a rust orange light brown sundial stand, upon which sits a sundial. The stone bottom is segmented with thread, and a dark triangle, presumably in the shadow, stands erect in the center.

Did you know? The sundial was invented 5,500 years ago in 3500 B.C. It was used by the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans.

This quilt block shows am ambulance from the side with the driver cab facing to the left. It is white, with triangle buttons on it to indicate the shiny stripe on the carriage. There is a blue sign near the roof that reads,

I think it would be claustrophobic and I think I would get motion sick. I realize that if I’m actually in an ambulance those will be the least of my problems.

This quilt block shows a drive through carwash from the front. The canopy covering is in a maroon color and on the top is a sign in yellow on blue that reads,

I had not ever been through a drive through car wash until I was at least 50 years old. My friend, Kathy, went through one on a trip to Denver together. It was a WOW moment for me.

This quilt block shows a corner block with a patch of grass in the lower right corner. Poking out of the grass and towards the center of the block are several very detailed flowers of various kinds and colors. The detail of each flower bloom stands out in this block; the blooms themselves being medium sized flower pattern buttons.

The unique feature in this block is the flower sculptures. The blooms are huge! Beautiful enameled copper welded by a local artist.

This quilt block shows a tall square house with a dark roof and a chimney. There are two floors with three windows and a dark door. All along the bottom of the square are small red buttons in various little shapes, including hearts, to signify flowers.

I love poppies so this block made me smile a lot. It also reminded me of my Grandmother Evelyn. She had an amazing green thumb and it seemed everything she planted grew. She shared this gift with me and I’m forever grateful.

This quilt block features building going around a corner with buttons depicting flowers in the bottom right. The space needle, a tall building with a particular shape, sits next to a coffee shop.

Notice the sweet little buttons that make up the flowers and night stars? I plan to use as many of these little buttons as I can in this quilt. I get them from Just Another Button Company. They have so many fun buttons, every color, and size, even handmade ones.
