Besides offering a showy front this fence and tall flowers provides a little shade for some herbs that need it. At the back of the plot there is a little greenhouse for the tender hearted herbs that need a little extra TLC.
Monarchs can live 8 months. In butterfly that is a really long time. Another amazing thing about them is that they migrate 2500 miles! I thought it was astounding when I learned hummingbirds migrated 500 miles, these butterflies go 5 times that far!
I learned 91 foods that are consumed by humans need to be non wind pollinated. That means without the bee to play matchmaker between the male and female plants our diets would be very bleak indeed.
