Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day ninety-eight of that project.

This quilt block shows an orange slide, with the same polkoa-dotted splotchy orange fabric that was used in previous park blocks. The chassis for the slide is a dark orange, while the slide and handles are brighter orange. The slide is a depicted sideways, so it's whole structure lies flat as if viewing it from the side with the end of the slide on the left.

The big slide!

This slide is a pretty big one. I can see some kids taking a long time to work up the courage to climb to the top. This would have been me.

I was afraid of heights.

I’m still not best friends with high places, but I’m way better. Building a two-story house and going up and down on scaffolding really helped.

My grandkids would love it.

I liked slides when I was little if it wasn’t too tall. However, the pitfall was I always wore little dresses, and I can tell you there are not too many things that feel hotter than a silver slide on bare legs! Boy, I only did that a couple of times.

My granddaughter wears leggings under everything, so she’s safe. But back in the dark ages, there were no leggings.

Lucky girl.

The gate has two posts on on either side of it. The gate itself is a rectangle frame with an x through it with two extra bars. Below the left side of the gate is a block to prop the end of the gate on to keep it form sagging. There is a chain and hinges drawn on the brown fabric in pen.Block-A-Day 340 – The Corral Gate
