Block-A-Day 8 – The Capitol

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day eight of that project. Soon the first round will be completed, whereupon I will post the quilt so far.

A grand building on a quilt block featuring a gold dome on top.

This is a grand building.

In the pattern, it is called “city building.” I put a gold dome on the top to remind me of our state capitol building in Denver, Colorado.

I like this building. Today as controversy brews in our nation’s capital, I like thinking about my little town where things can go just the way I like.

This quilt block is a happy building on a sad day for our country.
