When I have taken the shuttle from the airport up the mountain I have talked to some very interesting people. Once I was sitting next to a young woman from the east coast inner city that had come to work at the YMCA here in the mountains.
I have memories of shopping with my Grandmother as a little girl. She always drove a Cadillac or a Lincoln Continental. It felt like a boat. We would go to downtown Denver and there were two parking garages that she used. One went up and one went down. Both scared me silly.
When I was in the 6th grade we lived in Denver for a couple of years. During that time my mother’s favorite thing to do was to go to open houses. So at least twice a week we loaded up and went to look at houses.
When I was a little girl we had a market called Strauchman’s. Two brothers from Denver owned it and they had an amazing butcher shop. And they had an amazing butcher named Ernie.
This is a grand building. In the pattern, it is called “city building”. I put a gold dome on the top to remind me of our state capitol building in Denver, Colorado.
