Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day fifty-seven of that project.

This quilt block shows a blue and yellow cupcake shaped building. The front dor is round and green, while the building body looks liek a blue cupcake wrapper. The roof is a dome of yellow with a red cherry on top. To the left and right are some flowers shown with heart shaped buttons. The sign on the yellow dome says,

Oh boy, cakes!

I love cake, well that’s not entirely true. I like most cakes, and I LOVE chocolate cake. This adorable little shop is one of those fancy little places that make cakes and cupcakes into works of art.

They are as delicious as they are beautiful. The chef has a waiting list and is booked six weeks out for occasion cakes.

They have a brisk walk-in counter business as well. Most of what is sold over the counter are cupcakes. Although when you look into the display case, it may take a minute to realize you are seeing cupcakes.

There are ladybugs and lots of different kinds of flowers, fairies with full skirts, and gnomes with pointed hats. There is a fantastic array of mushrooms, too, polka dot ones and airbrushed beauties.

Every one of them is a happy little surprise in your mouth.

Excuse me; I have to go find some cake.

The fronts of the townhomes are mirror images of each other. Each one has two upper floor square yellow windows (bordered by brown thread, and one lower floor yellow square window. The lower windows have flowerbeds in front of them, with one having red flowers (tiny two-hole buttons), and the other having pink flowers.
