Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day forty of that project.

This quilt block shows an orange house with a door in the center. The orof is a perfect triangle and is red. There is a half-circle window in the roof, and on top of the roof is a sailboat weathervane.

Captain Ron lives here. A sailor, he made his living hiring on to sail big boats for people wanting to be on the ocean but had no knowledge of how to do it. A fun-loving, easy-going guy, he’s finally settled down in our town where his daughter and her children live.

He’s particularly proud of his sailboat weather vane.

Captain Ron adores his young grandchildren. He often takes them to the beach to watch them run in the sand toward the water and squeal with delight when the water catches them. He also likes to visit the local pub and entertain his friends with tales of the sea.

Life has been good to Captain Ron, and now in this late chapter, they might get even better. He’s met a widow that thinks he’s cute and bakes pies for him. Yes, indeed, Captain Ron is a lucky man.
