Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day thirty-three of that project.

This is an odd little house I think. It appears to have a look of perpetual surprise. Its windows give the impression of eyes that are opened so wide they raise the eyebrows and the door is in the shape of a big “oh”. So who lives in this cottage?
A professor I think. A university history professor that only does research and has little contact with other people. Philip is a pleasant enough fellow who lives quietly with his books and his cat, Robert. The computer is a recent addition that he uses a great deal but can never replace his beloved books.
He doesn’t own this house even though he has lived there for 30 years. Instead prefers to rent without any of the worries of homeownership. Robert is truly a housecat, having never ventured out into the yard. Afraid of his shadow, he imagines himself a great hunter if only Philip would give him a chance.
Philip is totally unaware of Robert’s fantasy.
See you tomorrow
Your little stories are so fun to read. I look forward to meeting the rest of the neighborhood!
Thank you!
