This quilt block features a house that is split down the middle. It has a shared roof with two chimneys, but there's a lien down the midle of the building's body and two green doors with two sets of windows.

Block-A-Day 31 – The Duplex

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day thirty-one of that project.

This is the duplex. Twin brothers purchased this house together. They planned to live in it for a few years and then move into separate homes once they had established themselves.

In a sound plan, they would keep the duplex as an investment and be landlords. In the meantime, as is often the case, life got in the way. They both married and brought their brides to their shared homes.

Fortunately, they get along pretty well most of the time. So, here they are a few years later in twin houses with twin babies and looking to move! Having a place with 2 of everything has been fun and interesting, but they are over it already.

Soon two new people will be living in the twin house.
