Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred and seventy-nine of that project.

This quilt block shows a clock repair shop. it's shaped like an old mantel clock but with a bigger base, which is the rest of the building. Theere is a big clock face pointing 12:20 at the top of the roof. The building is all brown, like a wooden mantel clock. There is a window on the left and in it in brown letters reads,

This clock shop reminds me of an old mantel clock.

I think this kind of shop is a vanishing gem. There is a clock repair shop in Empire and stepping in there is like a step back in time.

The closest thing to a “big ben” type clock in Granby is the clock outside United Business Bank.

It’s a nice clock, and I look at it every time I go down the street. I like this little shop and wanted to include it on That Town’s street.

There are many smaller square windows outlined with an orange fabric, while inside they are a solid brown. They're each outlined by stitching. There is a light fixture above the middle door drawn in pen. The door is in the middle and is also outlined in an orange fabric. There are two signs, each detailed and colorful. On the left is a blue, black, and white sign with mountains on it and thew words, Block-A-Day 282 – New-2-U And Never Summer Brewing This quilt block shows a funny shaped house next to a tree. The house has a bit of an odd curve shape on the side that helps make it look like it's turning towards the viewer. The roof of the house is sloped and is a light brown, while the body of the house is a light rusted tan. There are two floors with windows, each window an offwhite rectangle of fabric. There is a thin door that is a darker brown. On the left side of the house is a dark brown tall chimney that goes from the bottom ad above the roof. The tree has a rich green foliage, being a piece of green fabric. There is stitching outlining each window and the house, as well as the tree, a black and white pepper colored tight stitching.Block-A-Day 361 – Stephen And Daniel
