Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day seventeen of that project.

Here is the neighborhood mechanic.

Most of us have a relationship with our mechanic. You know the guy you trust your car with. There was a time when service stations were NOT self-service, and someone came out and pumped your gas, washed your windshield, and checked your oil.

In those days, your mechanic likely worked at your service station or next door, and you knew his name and his wife and kids. You are lucky to live in a town where that is still so.

This is definitely not a Jiffy Lube.
