Block-A-Day 124 – Electric Scooter
Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and twenty-four of that project.

I love the color of this scooter.
I know someone in our area with a red polka scooter and a white polka dot helmet.
I think I have scooter envy. I have never ridden on a scooter, but I think it would be fun.
We are assuming this is an electric scooter. I’ve been reading about electric scooters online, and this is what I’ve found out.
You are 40% more likely to be hit by an electric vehicle, either 2 or 4 wheels, than a vehicle with a combustible engine. The reason isn’t the vehicle’s fault. Pedestrians are not paying attention (usually on their phones) and relying on their ears.
The silence factor is what is causing the problem. Manufacturers of electric cars are working on a sound their vehicles can make to make everybody safer. It’s the wave of the future.
China already has 300 million, and all Asian countries are well-outfitted with them. Europe and the U.K. are rapidly catching up. Of course, we are not to be left out.
The problem for the future is already showing up in China: what to do with broken or worn-out electric vehicles?
I think finding a way to recycle the materials would be awesome.
