Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and fourteen of that project.

This quilt block shows a similar fence to the one in the previous block. Behind the brown rounded fence are two dark rust brown poles on either side of the block. Attached to those two poles are bright orange circles with white fabric and thread under them indicating basketball hoops. This is all set against a splotchy gray background.

Hoops!

Next to the grassy area is a paved court where kids can shoot hoops.

You can’t see them in this picture but there are tennis courts behind the basketball court. This is a small school district and games are played out here.

The school also runs an after school activity program and sports are a big part of it. Part of the program at this school is for students to maintain the grounds.

They are the ones to pick up litter, so they don’t litter. They take extra pride on how everything looks and grows.

They mow the grass, compost, and grow a small garden as part of their science curriculum.
