This quilt block shows a tree behind a fence against a gray background. The fence is a dark splotchy brown, and the top of each plank is rounded like a thumbnail. The fence takes up about one third of the block from the bottom, with the next third taken up by a dark rust-brown trunk and a somewhat blobby patch of dark green indicating a large tree.

Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and thirteen of that project.

We are going to be seeing schools all along this street.

It’s a fenced compound.

This is the first view after the school bus gets to school.

Here is a nice tall tree. It’s next to the high school. I’m imagining tables built around the tree for studying.

Perhaps several tables in a grassy area also; then they could have some classes outside; after all, it’s a temperate climate.

We know that because palm trees are growing in the park.

When my son and family lived in California, they had all of their homeschool group classes in parks. They would reserve (and pay for) a table for a particular time and day with the park department.

I was so amazed; it was thinking way outside my box.
