Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day three hundred and thirty-nine of that project.

This block shows a detailed red tractor. This tractor has a red chassis. There is a seat with a starting wheel that is penned in white. I have a tractor that looks like this block.

It is a Massey-Ferguson 35. My grandfather bought it in 1960.

It has been working on our place since then, except for one winter when my husband rebuilt the engine. This is a hardworking little machine.

We use it to spread manure and drag fields now. It doesn’t have power steering or power brakes and just nearly bounces the sense out of you when you have to use it. I will be really sad when his time is over on the farm.

(Hopefully, not anytime soon.)

The chrome is a dark red fabric with dark grey stitching, and on the main body behind the handlebars is an orange splotch of fabric in the shame o a flame. The seat is the same black fabric as the wheels, with black stitching.Block-A-Day 238 – Cathy’s Motorcycle This quilt block shows a tall orange building with a roundish roof. It looks like a big barn on a farm. There are three entry doors on the bottom, all made out of deep red pieces of fabric. There are three windows, each above one entrance. In the left window you can see the black silhouette of a mouse, and in the far right window you can see the silhouette of a cat's head.
