Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan-Claire Mayfield. This is day two hundred of that project.

This quilt block shows a bunch of flowers. Five tulip looking flowers extend upwards from a jagged piece of green fabric made to look like grass. The stalks of the flowers are pen and stitching. The leaves that point upwards, two for each flower on each side are a darker green with a light green stitching outline. The tops of the flowers, the bulbs, are a bright orange at the base, with a yellow part sticking out the top, much like a tulip.

These flowers look like tulips to me.

I have a little story about tulips this year at our house.

Farmhand 1 planted and grew some gorgeous red and yellow tulips.
While they were in full bloom, Farmhand 4 picked them.

Without permission.

He went in and gave them to his mom and said, “I have a present for you.”

Farmhand 4 can have the most beguiling expression I have ever seen. Farmhand 1 was not a bit happy with this development.

Sort of like having your thunder stolen right out from under you.

Little brothers are a pain sometimes.

Inside the wheelbarrow, which we are seeing from the side, is dirt, brown fabric marked with pen, and a flower pot. Inside the flower pot are pen lines going up into buttons. The flower bulbs are tiny two-hole buttons of various colors.Block-A-Day 208 – The Wheelbarrow This quilt block is a corner block. There is a dark green grass patch in the bottom right of the square. On that grass patch are two jack-o-lanterns. The one in front is the traditional bright orange pumpkin with a spooky black face drawn on it with pen. There is also some thread or pen indicating a bit of a vine on it. Behind it is a tall squash that's more yellow. On it is a cuter spooky face with more rounded features. The top of this squash has some orange on it. This is all against a blue salmon-patterned background.Block-A-Day 287 – Stingy Jack This block shows a patch of corner grass with the strong stitching in light green on its border. This patch of grass is two dark green fabrics, one a mound on top of the other in the bottom left corner. Standing on the mound is a duck, just about standing up flapping and stretching its wings. On the breast of the duck is a large white S written in with white pen. The duck is a several colors. The bill is a yellow fabric, the head a deep green fabric, the neck a white fabric, and the rest (beside the feet) is a brown fabric. The feet are orange fabric. These are all stitched together with a tight salt-and-pepper stitching to look very much like a duck standing up.Block-A-Day 326 – Super Duck
