June News

Oh My Gosh… It’s newsletter time again!

I am so behind since going on vacation and going to retreat, so here goes everyone.

On Tuesday, June 1st and 8th at 5:30 PM, as well as Wednesday, June 2nd and 9th at 1:30 PM we’ll be doing another project from the book Mini Wonderful Curves ($22.95) that uses the QCR Mini ($19) ruler titled “Freedom Flag.” We had a project from this book in January and March, so if you have the book and ruler, be sure to bring them to class. Books and rulers are still available. This class will be offered for both weeks since I’m so late getting the newsletter out. You will need the book and ruler, plus a cutting mat, rotary cutter, sewing machine, and basic sewing tools. Class fee is $20 and includes all materials.

On Tuesday, June 15th at 5:30 PM and Wednesday, June 16th at 1:30 PM we will continue our monthly series “Swatter Sweaters”. These are really cute little projects that dress up the ordinary fly swatter. These Swatter Sweaters can also be made into a quilt, which many people are also doing. At the end of the year, you will have twenty-four 6.5” squares. July is coming up, and with it, patriotic celebrations. This month is 4th of July themed, complete with picnic ants. Sewing machine and basic tools required. Cost: $15.

On Tuesday, June 22nd at 5:30 PM and Wednesday, June 23rd at 1:30 PM we’re making a reversible hobo bag. The pattern and interfacing is provided in class. This requires 1 yard of fabric for the outside and 1 yard for the inside, sewing machine, and basic sewing supplies. Class fee is $18.

Tuesday, June 29th at 5:30 PM and Wednesday, June 30th at 1:30 PM will be devoted to Unfinished Objects [UFO]. This is a great time to bring in a stray project or something from class and complete it.

If you are participating in the Zoom meeting for Annie’s Fiction Stitch-Along (Murder By The Block), the next meeting will be announced via e-mail.

I’m continuing to do a block a day of the very interesting That Town And Country Quilt by Susan Claire. I’m having so much fun with my block of the day, honestly, more than I thought I would. My quilt is growing all the time. Left is the quilt at 81 blocks, another round is coming soon. I post a new block along with details and thoughts every day on my blog. I hope you visit my blog and check out my blocks and commentary. Join in on the fun at https://tinasfabricnook.com/blog/ (or click “blog” in the top menu of the store site at https://tinasfabricnook.com)
