Summer is racing past us!
It’s already July and time for the Quilt Show again!

Peaks N Pines 10th Annual Quilt Show is Saturday, July 10th and Sunday July 11th 10 – 4 Grand Lake Center Commons 301 Marina Dr. Grand Lake.

We’re also excited as we are the first place winners in the Granby Yard Art Event!

On Tuesday, July 6th at 5:30 PM, as well as Wednesday, July 7th at 1:30 PM we’ll be doing the Mini Brick Road Table Runner. You’ll need a sewing machine, basic sewing tools, a rotary cutter, and a small mat. Be sure to also being a charm pack (30-40 5” squares or equivalent) Class fee is $15 and includes the pattern.

On Tuesday, July 13th and 27th at 10:30 AM there will be the a Wool Appliqué class.

On Tuesday, July 13th at 5:30 PM, as well as Wednesday, July 14th at 1:30 PM we’ll have [UFO], or Unfinished Objects. This is a great time to bring in a stray project or something from class and complete it.

On Tuesday, July 20th at 5:30 PM and Wednesday, July 21st at 1:30 PM we will continue our monthly series “Swatter Sweaters”. These are really cute little projects that dress up the ordinary fly swatter. These Swatter Sweaters can also be made into a quilt, which many people are also doing. At the end of the year, you will have twenty-four 6.5” squares. This month features a sunny yellow star on one side and slice of watermelon on the other, perfect August afternoon fare. Sewing machine and basic tools required. Cost: $15.

If you are participating in the Zoom meeting for Annie’s Fiction Stitch-Along (Murder By The Block), the next meeting is on Wednesday, July 21st at 6:30 PM.

On Tuesday, July 27th at 5:30 PM, as well as Wednesday, July 28th at 1:30 PM we’ll be making a Flipping Out pouch. It’s a zipper bag with a flat bottom you can put your sewing notions in, zip it up, and take it with you. It’ll stand next to your machine or wherever you want it. Great for class tools! You’ll need a sewing machine, basic sewing tools, and two (2) fat quarters. Class fee is $30 and includes pattern & notions (zippers, etc).

The last Saturday of the month, July 31st is Bag Day! If you’re unfamiliar with Bag Day you can come into the store with a pre-purchased canvas Fabric Nook bag, or purchase one in the store, and then receive 25% off your purchase for that day.

There are lots of new samples in the shop, so if you’re looking for something new be sure to come look them over.

I’m continuing to do a block a day of the very interesting That Town And Country Quilt by Susan-Claire Mayfield.
