Block-A-Day 182 – A Question For The Ages…
Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and eighty-two of that project.

Today is the halfway point for this quilt!
There are as many blocks behind as there are ahead of us.
Here are images of the four corners of the quilt taken at the end of the last round:
Weeds are the subject of today’s block. My friend Jenny pointed out a plant is only a weed if you don’t want it where it’s growing.
That’s true, of course.
When I was gardening, I considered grass from the hayfield to be the most obnoxious weed, closely followed by thistle and bindweed. I think it would be hard to find a place where thistle and bindweed would NOT be a weed.
However, the grass is a massive asset in the hayfield. Dandelions are another example; I consider them a weed on my lawn, but in the field where the chickens graze, they are fine and make bright yellow yolks.
I’ve been thinking about this all afternoon.
I was trying to decide if this way of thinking applied to the few people who are a fly in my ointment. (Really, very few.)
Are they only obnoxious because they are where I don’t want them? Or would they be obnoxious no matter where they are?
A question for the ages…
