Today I continue my quest in creating and posting one block a day of the fabulous That Town And Country Quilt by the lovely Susan Claire. This is day one hundred and two of that project.

This quilt block shows a large gate against a gray background. The gate is huge, with a brown presumably metal frame forming an arc over the swinging double doors. Overhead, as you would walk under, is a sign in yellow that has the word,

These are some pretty fancy park gates!

Make me think of the gates to Jurassic Park or Heaven.

I think they are only closed at night and have a light that shines on them. They could be to a special part of the park, like the rotunda.

Perhaps there is an extraordinary sculpture garden with fragile exotic flowers and fairies or a small zoo.

Imagination is a wonderful thing.

The green dome top has white stitching on it cutting it into sections and a ball at the top of the dome. The columns are all in a circle supporting the dome, and below and above the columns is additional stone with decoration or etchings into the stone. The stone itself is a light yellow. The whole thing is very classically Greek like.Block-A-Day 101 – The Park Rotunda This quilt block shows a patch of smooth grass along the bottom with a deep green fabric, and then trees that look like light green blocks coming up from it. There are three trees with very short orange-brown trunks ranging from short to pretty tall. This is all against a gray salmon or fish like background fabric. There is vertical white stitching in the trees.Block-A-Day 103 – Hide ‘N Seek This quilt block shows a smooth patch of grass at the bottom denoted by a green cut of fabric. On the green fabric are threads shooting up with yellow buttons at their end indicating flowers. The buttons are round and two-holed. In the middle of it all is a rust orange light brown sundial stand, upon which sits a sundial. The stone bottom is segmented with thread, and a dark triangle, presumably in the shadow, stands erect in the center.Block-A-Day 104 – The Sundial
